This was created through a “happy little accident” when cutting emphera out for collage.
I was looking at negative spaces left after cutting stills (See Yoga entry) from my time lapses to intersect the two sides of my project together.
The negative spaces acted as my own version of the viewfinder, enhancing on the idea of “the world through my eyes”.
I then set up the poses of myself in negative space in my garden to interact with the environment, particularly with the flora/fauna.
The seemingly simplest ideas can be the most effective such as negative space and shapes. So, I definitely want to use this in the future to my advantage when developing paintings, exploring this technique and enhancing on the topic of “the world through my eyes”.
