Water-solvable Textile and stitch experiment Process

Two experiments I made using hand stitching and water solvable fabric.

Above is the process from stitching onto the fabric using thread, to dissolving the textile in water.
The stitch took a while to fully dissolve on each of the pieces. The Hamish (dog) portrait took about 45 mins to an hour, whilst the self-portrait took an hour and a half. to fully disappear.

In the end the thread was stiffer than before, although retaining some of sticky fabric residue within the knots and crosses I had made.

Overall the effect is nice and interesting , although next time I will not crossing the stitch as much and try to create a more outline potrait.
