Swimming

Swimming is a situation which is confusing for myself sensory-wise, in particular when concerning the reflections of light on the water, sound of the waves and the feeling of the water and whats under my feet.

Above are the four i have chosen to represent/recreate within my textile experiments.

Starting by sketching out the images as I feel it becomes more interesting and lifelike compared from using the photos directly.

I decided to photocopy the sketches onto acetate and cut them out as stencils.

Finally I chose textiles I had gathered from the scrap fabric bags at college that I connected to swimming and stuck them on the opposite page.

Through the past week I had decided to recreate one of the images using some of the textiles.
Utilizing mostly sheer and reflective fabrics in relatively cool colours.
