In this scenario I want to depict the feeling of comfort and serenity with cuddling my pets in bed after experiencing tough days .
The floral patterns of the quilts,, the patchwork stitch on my weighted blanket, the sheer old Sari i used for a drape as a kid, and the constant fluffy feeling of the cats, dogs under my many covers.

i started the process by sketching the images onto my paper, then transferred them to acetate to then cut a make-shift stencil to work from.
I then gathered fabric scraps, mostly floral/lace and soft to the touch, and stuck them to the opposite page of the sketches. This shows the feel i hope to go material wise and acts as a referral point for me when i need direction.

Here are two types of experiments I am going to work and incorporate in to the depiction of this setting.
On the left is a example of me stenciling silhouettes onto the backdrops, which i hope to use more intricately with the stencils I have pre-cut.
On the right is a  page I have played with stenciling some structure paste and painting over top, this reminds me of my quilt and covers.

Overall i like the effect and feel as if I am getting closer to a defined colour pallet with this scenario.
Now its onto cutting back on elements until I have a simpler outcome.

This is a piece I tried making which shows my cat in the morning sitting on my bed among the blankets, with the curtain and drape beside her.
I stitched each of the fabric elements separately, first by sewing together various scraps together, whilst retaining some tension in the stitch therefore creating a taught effect, then I hemmed the edges and any scrap/loose thread in before arranging and attaching each of the scraps onto the backdrop.
